Just as the monoliths in “2001: A Space Odyssey” always herald a new stage of development, the Light Cube #3 (TMA-3) attempts to do just that, on a small scale for the visitors. Inside it, otherwise invisible proportions and dimensions can be rediscovered. Nothing physical or tangible, everything only appearance, but therefore no less real than the known.<\/p>\n

The fourth monolith in the 2001 narrative and the third light cube by Zugdirekt. Zugdirekt is a Munich-based collective that has been exploring themes of virtuality, security and identity through film, performances and installations since 2014.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

ALEXANDRA LUKASCHEWITZ is an artist from Munich. She specialises in unusual figures and pictures made of paper.<\/p>\n

Having grown up in the Bavarian Alps, she loves nature with all its flora & fauna. At the same time, she has a special passion for comics, monsters and curiosities. The themes and characters of her works are thus created at the intersection of these two very different worlds. Daniel Kuhnlein is a dedicated designer and web developer from Munich. Having grown up with computer technology as a means of creative expression, he has mastered a wide range of methods, techniques and tools for realising digital brand communication. In December 2003, he founded Standardabweichung Interaktives Design. Standardabweichung develops digital projects at the interface of brand, people and technology for companies, advertising agencies and cultural institutions. In the age of digitalisation, we are surrounded by a growing number of intelligent sensors and systems. They draw a data-based picture of our subjective lifeworld and provide insight into our habits, environmental conditions, motives and needs. This creates a fragmented profile of our personality, which can be completed through the right combination and networking of different data sources.<\/p>\n

GOLDRUSH addresses the tension between our existence and an abstraction of it based on measured data. In virtual space, the viewer experiences the paradox of a juxtaposition with his data-based likeness. He is at the same time subject and also observer of himself. His likeness appears in the centre of the installation in the form of a dynamically generated data sculpture. Analogous to the error-prone interpretation of the data stream, its representation is subject to continuous change. Sometimes it appears incomplete and composed of individual fragments, sometimes comprehensive and detailed. Simultaneously, the viewer can move freely around his data sculpture in virtual space and gain a new perspective on himself. In doing so, he finds himself in a reciprocal relationship with it. His point of view and his actions have a direct effect on the data stream, whose interpretation and representation in turn stimulate a change in his behaviour.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Diego Montoya’s work focuses on the interface between technology and emotion, object and observer, digital and real. In Voxel 3, a small creature greets its viewers with wonder, inviting them to come closer and interact with it, creating an emotional bond.<\/p>\n

Bianca Kennedy and The Swan Collective (founded in 2007) are freelance artists.
\nWhen they join forces for projects, they explore the future of evolution and its impact on plants, animals and humans. They studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, the Athens School of Fine Art and both received the scholarship of the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes.

Milena Wojhans artistic practice deals with the depiction of the human body, especially that of women, in todays media. Having worked as a photographer and retoucher for the fashion industry, the standardized digital and aesthetical optimizations of the body has informed her work ever since. Wojhan creates a wealth of photographic material by coordinating her own photoshoots. With the resulting images she starts a new process of digital distortio<\/strong>n<\/strong><\/em>. Bodies are abstracted to their details, used as individual elements for montages. The resulting luminescent figures convey a feeling of disassociation from the body as a host.<\/p>\n
