HEBOCON

On 17 October at 12h the time has finally come! This time…DrumRoll…1. Hebocon in the Ehrensaal of the Deutsches Museum.

Hebocon is a low-tech sumo wrestler style robot fight invented by Daijū Ishikawa in 2015 and first held in Tokyo/Japan. A competition in which robots with moderate – to no – technical skills are assembled from everyday and disposable objects and finally allowed to compete against each other. The worse the better!

It’s not about technical finesse or winning as such, but about tinkering, having fun and generally inventing pointless gadgets. At the same time, you should push your opponents off the table as quickly as possible. Particularly untalented builders are welcome to join us – there will even be a point deduction for robots that are too technically advanced!  So please don’t bother, because as soon as your craft moves, it’s already a robot!

Now you’re probably already rummaging around in your flat and desperate to start building and apply with your robot?

Let’s go – you can register yourself, your robot and your crew right here: CONTACT

Or just drop by spontaneously on 17 October at 12 noon in the Ehrensaal of the Deutsches Museum (1st floor).

To enable you to participate in Hebocon if you don’t have a robot yet, Kerstin, Emma and Michael offer you a robot workshop. There you can build and design your own robot in two to three hours. The workshop is also suitable for children from about 10 years.

We have two robot kits on offer.
The smaller one costs 15 EUR and includes a manual controller that you build yourself from cardboard, pattern clips and cables. The large kit costs 50 EUR and includes all the electronic and mechanical components for an autonomous robot, but you can also control it manually and customize the software. It’s fun to build your own robot, just try it out.

More information about our workshop can be found at roboter.workshop.de.

We are looking forward to seeing you!
