WHAT IS THE MUNICH SCIENCE & FICTION FESTIVAL?
A 2-day interdisciplinary festival that brings together regional and international artists and scientists, performers, filmmakers, interested people and lay people who enjoy sharing their knowledge, creativity and playfulness. We combine art and science to create the often quoted ‘edutainment’. We show you, among other things: Slams, music, state-of-the-art exhibitions, workshops, performances, Hebocon, Fail Nights, and much more. Guaranteed to be free of regulars’ tables, without merchandise, plastic parks, imperial recycling, cosplay or the usual space junk.
WHAT MAKES YOUR DIFFERENT?
We create new, innovative formats every year, such as the Science Fiction Slam, the Faultiverse, music productions such as the first BigBang Symphony, or ‘state-of-the-art’ media art experiences… We see science fiction as an opportunity-principle to think things anew – to change perspectives; and to invite – and shoot – projects outside the mainstream.
HOW MUCH DOES THE ENTRY COST?
Tickets are available either on the Saturday of the festival via the ‘Long Night of Museums’ or via the Deutsches Museum. We as an association do not sell tickets!
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
You can always contact us via the contact form. The SF festival has an annually changing team of helpers, performers and technicians. You are welcome on board – Astronaut Training incl. (!) We all work voluntarily and are dependent on help, gratuities and the joy of our co-makers!
WHEN DOES THE NEXT MUNICH SF FESTIVAL TAKING PLACE?
The festival has been held once a year at the Deutsches Museum since 2018. This usually takes place in October during the Long Night of Museums. If you always want to get updates on our platform and our goings-on, please follow us on social media.
Feel very welcome on board!
